How It Works

This demo queries over 153 million Citibike trip records stored in Arc. The dataset includes every ride from June 2013 through January 2026, updated monthly.

Each query filters by year, month, rider type, and bike type, then returns the most recent 100 trips for visualization. Arc's partition pruning ensures queries complete in milliseconds even across billions of rows.

The data is stored in Parquet format with time-based partitioning by year and month, allowing efficient range queries across the entire 13-year dataset.
