This post is about why we did it, what changed on the pricing page, and what happens after you click the button.
People decide before they talk to you
Here is a pattern we kept seeing. Someone downloads Arc, runs it on a box for a couple of weeks, likes it, and wants clustering or role-based access. They go to the Enterprise page, see a price they already agree with, and hit a wall: a form that leads to a conversation.
Most of them do not want the conversation. They have read the docs. They have benchmarked it against whatever they run today. They know their core count. They want to pay and move on, the same way they would buy any other tool in their stack.
By the time they reach out, the only open question is how to pay. Making someone book a call to answer that is a tax on their time, and on ours. So we removed it for the two tiers where it never made sense.
What you can buy online

Both unlock every Enterprise feature, from clustering with automatic failover to RBAC and tiered storage. The full list is long; the short version is that the tiers differ in capacity and support, not in what the binary can do.
Checkout runs on Stripe. It takes card or US bank transfer, calculates tax from your billing address and tax ID, and asks for two things beyond the usual: your company name, and a technical contact email. That second one matters. It is where the license key goes, so if the person paying is not the person running Arc, put the operator's address there.
Billing is yearly and renews automatically. You can cancel renewal from the Stripe customer portal that comes with your receipt, and the license runs to the end of the paid term. If the license fails to activate on your infrastructure and we cannot fix it, you get a full refund within 30 days. The terms are short and public at basekick.net/terms.
What happens after you pay
One step is still manual: license keys are minted by a person. Right after checkout, Stripe sends the receipt to whoever paid, and we send a confirmation with next steps to both the buyer and the technical contact. Then, within one business day, the key arrives at the technical contact with activation instructions.
Activation itself is one line in your config:

The tiers got new names
While we were in there, we renamed them. Starter is now Tier I, Professional is Tier II, and the tier formerly called Enterprise is Tier III. Prices and limits did not change.
The reason is simple: the product is called Arc Enterprise, so a tier called Enterprise made every sentence about it worse. Roman numerals fix it. If you have an existing license, nothing changes for you; the key keeps working and your renewal is the same.
Sales is still here, when you want it
Some purchases genuinely benefit from a conversation. Tier III and Unlimited go through us, because at that scale we want to understand the deployment. Same for purchase orders, invoicing, multi-year contracts with a discount, and offline license files for air-gapped sites.
